Bill:

Seems the Republicans are rethrinking their stance on holding hearings. 
Seems they realize the error of their ways.  Let me see:  Here they are the
party upholding family values, yet they seemingly support a ripping son
away from his father.  Doesn't look like a sterling family value!  They
couldn't even muster the
votes in their own party, a few mos. back, to grant Elian citizenship.  And
the latest poll shows that 68 percent of Americans support reuniting Elian
with his father.

I liked what Maureen Dowd said on Ap. 26..."Government must sometimes separate a
child and parent, if that parent is hindering electoral votes."

It's become increasingly clear that the only reason--and I mean, the only
reason--that any politician supported Elian's crazy Miami
"family" (cousin-on-the-verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown, alcoholic
uncle with several DWI charges, and two other relatives with felony
charges) was political--to get votes.
