LL> If you are being chased by an alligator, what do you do?
LL> If you run in a straight line, the alligator will catch you
LL> and eat you alive. And if you dive into the water and try
LL> to outswim the alligator, the alligator will jump in after
LL> you and eat you alive.
LL>
LL> As every kid knows, at least those kids in Louisiana, you gotta
LL> outrun an alligator by running in a zigzag. You see, an alligator
LL> has to stop in order to change direction. And that takes time,
LL> giving the kid enough time to get to safety.
LL>
LL> In Australia, where crocodiles are king, running away is not the answer.
LL> Instead, one should sneak up behind the croc and walk on its back, then
LL> clasp the jaws to keep them from snapping together, and hope the croc
LL> is not really hungry.
LL>
LL> The other way is to feed the croc with something other than a kid.
The other way, that I've found most successful, is to just not be in-your-face,
in a predator's own environment!
Because I care,
