apart from blinding your buddy (and any fish you might happen to look at)
i'm pretty sure you can get helmets with lights on them for diving. i'm 
not a cave diver (yet) but from what i've read in aquaCorps (cool mag)
a lot of cave divers wear them as it leaves both hands free to handle
penetration lines and all the other equipment that keeps us alive down
there. if there are any cave divers reading maybe they can help out as to
the availability of such equipment, or whether you just make them yourselves.
i guess it would only be worth the hassle if you were doing heaps of night,
wreck or cave diving, though.
