This is terminal-specific, and it's quite possible they aren't supported by
your terminal. When I use the "od" command here (from the shell)
I can list the character sequences that are generated by the Left and Right
keys, but Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right don't generate anything:

(Ctrl+D on an empty line exits od)

0000000 5b1b 1b44 435b 000a
0000007

Anyway, the solution is to edit timkeys.cfg and bind the keys you want to
use (provided your terminal supports them) to the READgotoreply and
READgotooriginal functions. I just use the - and = keys:

; Unbind these

;+ READnextareanewmail
;- READprevareanewmail
;^cursorright READgotoreply
;^cursorleft READgotooriginal

; Use these instead

= READgotoreply
- READgotooriginal

Andrew
