v2.01 worked pretty much straight out of the archives, IIRC. Since I
installed it into 'C:\DJGPP', nothing had to be changed, apart from my
AUTOEXEC.BAT (to put 'C:\DJGPP\BIN' into the PATH).

I presume you've heard of "NASM", by now ... it's an Intel-syntax assembler
that can be used with DJGPP ...

Let's put it this way ... Carmack's made a lot of money out of "Quake", even
though "Quake" WAS written with DJGPP ...
