Unless it's changed since v4.0, Windows only; a variety of flavors (e.g. dll, 
console app, SDI, MDI, etc), but only for Win32.

"Out of the box" version 4.0 came with V C++ 1.52(?) for 16-bit Windows apps. 
As for using 4.0 and up to create a 16-bit application, I couldn't tell you. 
It hasn't been an issue for me as of yet. :-)
