Cool! ;)
I'm just wondering if a new user can register using ssh or not.
That's where an "unauthenticated" login (using predefined un/pw like
"mystic/mystic" or "bbs/bbs") would be useful.
I think it would be a good idea if the unauthenticated ssh login still works
afterwards. So users would not be forced to change their credentials to
connect, which can be a hurdle to them. But instead, using their credentials
would be a feature to accelerate the login, like IEMSI does.
My BBS works on the Internet since 2004 and I never opened the telnet port,
but only ssh. This is already a barrier for users to connect. That's why I'm
concerned to simplify the user's experience. It is much easier to use
something like ssh://bbs@mybbs.com:22 to advertise the BBS than
ssh://:@mybbs.com:22, don't you think? :)
Regards,
Ioram
