Ed was feeding our little kitties (previously bottle feeding but now on
a mix of kitty food dry soaked in kitten milk replacer). He came in and
said it was bad enough the kittens had to fight the old toothless dog
for their food, and the two fat old house cats for it, but he looked
down and hassling the kitties for their chow was one of the young
maroon bellied conures muscle-ing his way into the into the fray for a
share of chow. Had to scoop the MB up and put the escapee away...
That's Ok, we found the baby 6 m/o Yellow Crown Amazon curled up with
the bobbed tailed kitty in their new kitty bassinet. I buy a new bed for
the kitties and I find the bird sleeping in it... Go figure.
INSIDE the house we have a very platonic harmonious atmosphere among the
animals. That translates to the kitties don't know any better and the
birds are bigger than they are, and the old dog has always liked birds
and both steered clear of them (Lovely to look at...) and the fat old
cats Jana and Sprite are just that ....too fat to bother degrading
themselves by bothering a bird....
However outside, we are dealing with a racoon that has been helping
itself to our doves. I had to move them because of the attacks. We set
up a coon Havahart trap but have only caught our outdoor cats so far.
This is my first coon problem.
