 What's wrong with 31200?
It's a perfectly valid baud rate for a 33.6 or higher modem.
Maybe they don't have modems that go that fast in India?
Some countries have not approved those speeds yet. How fast
does your modem go, and how fast are the fastest modems you
can buy in the store there?
Clean phone lines are needed to get the higher speeds like 31200,
so a lot of the lines in the US can't handle it, even if someone
has the right kind of modem. :(
Luckily, I have the modem and the lines. :)
 Most of the time.
 33600 is nice.
