Hi Warren!
I went to http://www.bbbs.net tonight, and I downloaded the version that is
(supposedly) for Linux.
Immediately, I developed several concerns:
1. When I unzipped it, everything went into the current directory - rather
than creating it's own directories, like most of the distributed software for
Linux does. I keep the distribution packages in that top level, and let the
packages create what they want.
2. What came out were a bunch of star.exe's - MS-DOS style with no
executables in the bunch.
3. The newest thing in there is dated June 1997 - 10 months ago. Am I safe in
assuming that development has stopped, and it is no longer supported?
4. There is a price for this stuff of 500 crowns. I have absolutely no idea
of how many hundreds of US Dollars that is. It looks like they have no
interest in the US market.
You have previously stated that you have BBBS for distribution there. Is what
you have any newer, or any better, than this?
I'll take a look at Daydream.
It is unfortunate that this is the best that is available as BBS software
under Linux!
