Oh, ok, that's different than what I was talking about then.
I think you're correct - there is no way to put floating hints on individual 
menu items. While menus are implemented as components in Delphi, they are 
just envelopes for standard Windows behavior (ie, it's not a shortcoming of 
Delphi so much as a constraint of the os).
Probably if you were extremely clever you could hack something, but it sure 
doesn't sound like a Good Time.
