This works for me, although I don't think it did when I used HPT versions
prior to approx 1.4.0, because the AREA: line was in the wrong place.  So
I'm not sure that was really a bug in timEd or not.

I assume you're using HPT, if so, which version?  Your message has no TID
line, which is unusual for people using HPT.
