Yep that was it.  "Authoring Tool" is what I meant to say.

I've tried primopdf and I've found that its printer driver doesn't render
as well as pdf995 and cutepdf.  The free version of pdf995 puts a message
in your documents and that is unacceptable to me.  Cutepdf's free version
doesn't put a message in the file it creates, and you can edit its ini file
to get the features found in the paid version.  You can also role your own
pdf printer driver as I mentioned before which would have no limitations
and could be based upon a pdf rendering engine as good or better than in
cutepdf.

I'm lazy, so I've been using cutepdf.
