This may only be an issue with the BeOS version.  I'll have another look at

I've actually had the opposite experience, where timEd is too fast to react
to the Esc key when it forms the beginning of a longer key sequence, eg.
Alt+X.  Makes it hard to use over a high-latency remote link.  The delay
can probably be made configurable though.

Not sure why it does this.  I just checked with the original 1.10 version,
and it hides SEENBY lines as it should, so it must be a bug.
