RF>Boy this echo has slowed a bit...I have some new Love bird babies that i RF>am hand feeding and From that same pair i noticed i already had 3 more RF>eggs out there they did not waist any time.. Does anyone think that i RF>should but a little calcium on thier food?.. This would be the 3rd RF>clutch this summer the first one in the beggining and now these 2 here. RF>I am going to pull the box after the babies hatch out. I currently have some lovebird babies too but I am not handfeeding them. I might see if I can get someone to feed for me but I don't risk lovebirds inside the house since I raise large birds and don't want the risk of polyoma. The babies are a couple of creaminos split something and an australian medium cinnamon sea green. Here that's about an $110 bird here, but sales for such are few and far between. As to the calcium, depends partly on what you feed them. If Pellets, no, probably. If seed, maybe. Seed diets are notoriously unbalanced as far as calcium & phosphorus. However, remember that you can feed a ton of calcium and it won't be absorbed if the animal does not get adequate vit. D-3. This is easiest to get from natural unfiltered sunlight. (Sunlight not coming through glass, fiberglass or even plastic.) Vita lights help but are none really full spectrum. If their food is adequate they shouldn't have a problem with that many clutches.
