| subject: | Re: USB & PS/2 KVM switch |
From: "Gary Britt"
Why not just get a PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse to USB converter cable. That's
what I did with my new USB only laptop and my PS/2 Only KVM. Works great.
The good cables even handle my Northgate keyboards and extra function keys
properly. The bad ones can be mildly bad to really bad.
I've had good luck with these converter cables made by Micro Connectors,
Inc. and sold on the web and at Fry's. Fry's sells other brands as well,
but I stopped trying other brands when I found the Micro Connectors, Inc.
ones worked with my Northgate keyboards, KVM, and USB only laptop. There
are probably other good brands that work also, but I only know of Micro
Connectors stuff.
Micro Innovations was a bad converter cable I tried. That was purchased
almost a year ago though so maybe they have improved?
