Yesterday Judy and I received the following letter from WDW with
regards to our December 23, 1999 to January 3, 2000 reservation
for the Contemorary Tower:
Dear Walt Disney World Guest:
Good thing you made your Walt Disney World reservations early for
New Year's Eve 1999. Even though it's over two years away, we're
completely booked. Already plans are being finalized for a
celebration like no other. And you've got reservations to be in
the middle of it all.
Like planning any great party, we need to know who'se coming. So
it's time to let us know if you'll be here for the pary of the
century. Make that "party of the MILLENNIUM!" Here are all the
details concerning your reservation.
We received your intiial deposit when you made your reservation.
At that time, rate for 1999 were unavailable.
Recently, our room rates for December 27 through December 31, 1999
were established. The rates for the hotel you selected are printed
on the enclosed confirmation form. NOTE: They're subject to
change unless you elect to "lock-in" these rates now.
To "lock-in" these room rates, please return the enclosed confirmation
form, along with the deposit amount stated on the form, by November
1, 1997. NOTE: That's THIS November. Your additional deposit
amount that appears on your confirmation form, combined with your
original deposit, is equal to two nights' room rate that the hotel
you requested.
Finally, if you "lock-in" these rates, payment of the balance of your
room nights must be received by September 27, 1999. Regretfully,
cancellation after this time would not be eligible for a refund.
Reservations are non-transferable.
If you've made other plans, well...the part won't be the same without
you. However, to receive a full refund of your intital deposit,
please inform us of your change of plans on the enclosed confirmation
form and return it to us by November 1, 1997. By cancelling your
reservation, you're allowing us to make your accomodations available
to another Walt Disney World Guest wishing on a star to be here.
Ther party's a little over two years away. And we're booked solid.
Yet, reservations inquiries keep coming in. That's why it's
important you respond quickly. We hope you'll be here in the middle
of the millennium magic. As party plans are finalized, we'll
fill you in on all the details.
Years from now when someone asks, "Where were you at the turn of the
millennium?" you won't even have to answer. They'll be able to
tell by the smile on your face.
Sincerely
Mary Tomlinson
Director of Resorts Marketing
P.S. Five, four, three, two...one last thing. To "lock-in" the
room rates for your reservation, your additional deposit must be
received by November 1, 1997. Respond today!
{End of quoted letter.}
The rates that we have been quoted are four nights (12/23-26) at
$299 plus tax (still subject to change when the 1999 rates are
issued) and for seven nights (12/27-1/3) at $385 plus tax (but
firm if we "lock-in" the rates by November 1 this year, which will
will probably do.
The instructions on the back of the confirmation form clearly
state that "Reservations are not transferable, and teh guest for
whom the room(s) are reserved may not be changed."
