JG> MS manuals have always been shit. That way you have to buy JG> another book and guess who publish the most? BL> Yair - they've just about lost me. The Windows manual wasn't BL> much good, JG> That's being kind. Corse the OS2 2.x ones werent exactly brilliant either. Particularly with 2.0 the online stuff was riddled with examples of stuff which made some sense if you knew what it was trying to say and was completely fucking useless if you didnt. Absolutely classic example of how not to write manuals quite a bit of it. Even now, far too much use of silly IBM 'not invented here' type playing silly buggers with normal ways of phrasing things seen on PCs. The original OS2 2.0 install stuff was riddled with it where even the very simple concepts of the partition types was comprehensively fogged by using phraseology that most users would have never seen before without even adequately explaining it most of the time. Some of it was almost as bad as Jinglish hardware manuals it was so fogged. --- PQWK202* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
