The people in my institute had some meeting on Hawaii some days ago..i  
envied them. The only reason to become a geophysicist: One can work on  
Hawaii and New Zealand. :-)

Why is one stationed in Hawaii? Has it some strategic value?

My brother (in Cleveland) told me that recently there was some sudden drop  
in temperature. One day 22�C, the next 6�C. Did you experience something  
similar?

Only once I built one with my brother which needed some good planing. It  
was so huge that we could not lift what was supposed to become the middle  
part of the snowman. So we had to built a ramp first
