| subject: | RXASYNC - Serial I/O |
On the 03-12-95, Mike Stella was chatting with Jerry Mcbride:
MS> JM> dos COMPORT number, instead of the os2 comhandle number...
MS> JM> This is what I was speaking of.
MS>
MS> (sigh) I ought to pay more attention. So you have a program that passes
MS> the com handle, and you really want the com port. Hardcode
MS>it?
1. Com port NAME ie. COM2
2. Com port HANDLE ie. 6
3. Com port ADDRESS ie. 2F8h
4. none of the above.
Pick one.
RxAsync only does 1 & 2 (I would have thought that that was sufficient).
You need a DLL that has functions for direct port IO for itme 3 (There's
source for this in COMOS2.ZIP, and I think something in FILERX.ZIP).
As to item 4, be buggered if I know what you mean. #;-))))))
Cheers, Ian.
