the problem here is stupid humans stripping (aka clear cutting) the trees for
farms and buildings without planting an equal or larger number of trees...
i always gets me that in new residential areas being built, they strip out all
the trees, build the roads and buildings and then plant some new trees... the
problem here is the trees they stripped out could have been used as protection
and shade cover for the new houses which would reduce heating and cooling
costs... instead they now have to wait 30+ years for the new trees to grow and
hope they will shade the house and help to reduce these costs...
then there's the problem with the stripping of trees leaving younger spindly
trees that cannot take the brunt of the winds... those trees get broken in high
wind situations which leads to more younger spindly trees having to take the
brunt of the winds and around in the circle we go... also consider an existing
house that has had the trees stripped from the windward side... now that house
takes the brunt of the winds and there's an increase in the heating and cooling
costs... stupid humans just not thinking about the consequences and they wonder
why they have roof problems and higher heating and cooling costs...

i think i can agree with that :)
