| subject: | Window Sizes |
Hello All! I just started PM programming, and am doing all right, but I don't have any books to look up some of the more trivial info., so I have to ask here. :-) Anyhow, when setting my window size, I seem to have to include extra size units for the title bar, menu bar, and border of the window my program is running in. I'm calling WinSetWindowPos() right after doing all the initialization stuff to do the sizing. Is there a way to get the size of all the "extra" stuff so I can exclude it from the "usable window size"? Or, alternative to that, is the size of the menu bar, title bar, and border always constant no matter which graphics mode? Right now, I've factored the 640x480 sizes of these items into my sizing calculations and everything is fine, but I'm worried the sizes may be different for different graphics modes. If this isn't possible, is there a way to do sizing _without_ having to add extra units to offset the title bar and menu bar and borders? I'd actually much prefer this way, but if not I suppose I can cope with the other way. I hope this is clear enough. Thanks to any who can help me out. -- PaulS --- FMail/386 1.0g* Origin: C.R.I.S.I.S.
