Jumping into this conversation, yes, you can turn off the spooling of
Windows95, but then you won't be able to use the computer for anything
else while your document is printing. I have a Canon BJ-610 color
inkjet, and it uses a special print driver developed in conjunction
with MicroSoft called the Windows Print System (it tries to do screen
color matching, etc. and allows you to easily modify the print
qualities to match the particular print job). If I'm printing just a
text document, I find the WP drivers are still faster, FWIW.
