You explain why those Bipolars and alcoholics who take the stuff have
brief periods where they become very weird. You have the experience of
witnessing this yourself while driving along a freeway with a Bipolar,
alcoholic male sitting next to you in a small Mazda pickup as I have.
Then you come back here and run off at the mouth again.
The answer is, of course, that the amount of serotonin is elevated in
those folks for a very brief (and very scary) period of time to that of
a schizoprenic. And they go bonkers. This then leads to immediate
demands from the patient in question to whoever stupidly prescribed the
stuff to end the misery.
Much better to find another way to treat the depression. We now are
aware that the anticonvulsants work better than lithium.
This is why it is so important to use both standard techniques AND
alternative techniques in the treatment of everything. Those who stick
their heads in the sand and refuse to learn to do this just leave their
rear ends up beggging to be kicked.
