 No, the smiley was very clear.  IMHO it came across in a smartaleckly
 sort of way.  Because of the tone given to it, what might have been
 a good question, was actually a borderline offtopic message. I
 replied only to make my position on such messages clear to the
 whole group.   I think it's a good idea for all members to discuss
 just what is and is not topical, but it should be done in a serious
 manor. I suggest that you try to take matters of echo policy more
 seriously or else confine the writing of such messages to e-mail.
