Yes, I've heard nice things about Amipro.

JG> The two times I called MS was to abuse them for sending out a

  ROFL!!

BL> That would have cost me $500 today.

JG> $35 a call until the problem is solved I think :-) Still too
 JG> much in my opinion.

They sent me a thing that enetitled me to 4 free calls, but it ran
out a year ago, and that was when I quit. I really have no idea how
much it costs (except that it is graded for hard ones and easy ones).
IMO, *anything* is too much. They can go and get stuffed. The idea of
having to pay for *their* bugs is ridiculous.

Dopey Keating got dazzled by Gates when he should have been kicking
the bastard in the balls. The idea of selling faulty goods with no
warranty is mad! I work for a guy who imports TV from China, and the
warranty is total! If you don't like it in 12 months you get your
money back or a new one. If we can do that for Chinese TV sets, why
not software?

They get away with bloody murder.

JG> That's one reason I do like Lotus. They send the bug fixes out
JG> free of charge without any warning :-). It's a pleasant
JG> surprise in this day and age.

Yair - and so they should. I rang up about Word2, and no sooner had
I begun to describe the strange behaviour than they sent me out v2.0c.
I thought it was wonderful! Until I worked out what it meant. They had
a fucking bug, and were letting us poor bastards find it out for
ourselves, one at a time, to save them $7 in bloody discs!

That policy of "fuck yous all" should not be allowed. It is the
responsibility of government to write the commercial rules, but they
let software companies get away with murder. and of course, M$ bends
it all they can, for their own profit. We need a special warranty,
with free bug-fix updates for all as part of it, and a guaranteed
lifetime of 2-3 years. It's insane that you buy V1.0 and v2.0 comes
out in 6 months.

Regards,
Bob
