RF>Boy this echo has slowed a bit...
I've been around here for years, and the echo always has slow periods,
around the beginning of every season, mid-summer, and around Christmas.
It's normal, and will probably pick up again soon.
RF>I have some new Love bird babies that i
RF>am hand feeding and From that same pair i noticed i already had 3 more
RF>eggs out there they did not waist any time.. Does anyone think that i
RF>should but a little calcium on thier food?..
You should ALWAYS have calcium available for breeding pairs when they
have a nest box. They should also have calcium available BEFORE they go
to nest. I read somewhere that it takes a hen 6 MONTHS to replenish her
calcium supply after breeding, so the calcium really needs to be
available 6 months BEFORE, and 6 months AFTER... guess what
that means? This is NOT calcium ADDED to the food, it's a separate
calcium source (mineral blocks or cuttlebone), plus vitamin D3 or
sunlight so the hen can USE the calcium.
