David,
This is interesting. You (and possibly others) may not be aware that
in the UK IBM operates the OS/2 Porting Advisory Centre that helps
developers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to port their products
to OS/2.
At this moment in time we are helping several hundred European
organisations port their apps to OS/2. Most of these ports are probably
being undertaken without the knowlegde of many of the people here.
Unfortunately, respect for client confidentiality would prevent us from
releasing bulk details of who is porting to OS/2. However, there may be
a number of ISV's who would wish to actively promote their forthcoming
OS/2 versions and it might be possible for us to post details of these
here (or to your proposed list).
Also, anyone who is contemplating porting a product needs to know that
we exist! We are here to provide technical assistance to anyone who
wishes to port to OS/2. So, if your proposed list should contain
companies thinking about a port to OS/2 then please feel free to invite
them to contact us so that we can ensure they have access to detailed
information on porting to OS/2 and have suitable access to support
personnel, etc.
We have also recently started to offer assistance to developers who
wish to port their applications to OS/2 for PowerPC.
Anyone in Europe, Middle East or Africa who would like to apply for
porting assistance is welcome to e-mail myself (aflower {at} ibm.net) and
we'll then see what we can do to help you get an OS/2 version quickly!
