BH> I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was about 7 yrs old, always had
rouble
BH>in school, mostly because of how my peers related to me (Was at the bottom
o
BH>the pecking order). Was extermely interested in Science, Electronics, and
BH>Radio. I have held an Amatuer Radio License (KF6HDJ) for over a year now,
BH>will be upgrading to General class, and am a Network assistant for a
BH>pharmaceutical company here in Carlsbad. I for the most part learned at
my
BH>own pace, I had difficulties in math, but excelled at verbal and reading
BH>skills. When I wasnt feeling like a complete looser because of the way
he
BH>other students treated me I did fine. Be patient and adaptive, that is
y
BH>best advice...
In short, the teaching methods used in our public schools failed to
provide you with what you needed to learn. And they fail many children
who are very intelligent.
I worked with some of those same kids for two years in this county, kids
in trouble with the law. At that time, 50 PERCENT OF THE OLDER TEENS IN
PIERCE COUNTY, WASHINGTON were not in school. They had dropped out. And
those kids did so because the schools failed to teach them anything.
That is the great crime our present society is committing against kids
and I compliment you on your ability to rise above this and succeed on
your own.
