I've noticed a small typing error in the original posting, so here's the
correction. It seems that my editor left out a small portion of type that is
important to what is included in the "Canvas" group. [blush] Sorry folks!

The First Annual Fido Joint Crafting Echos Christmas Ornament Exchange
It may seem early this year, but it is getting to be time to kick off
the First Annual Fido Joint Crafting Echos Christmas Ornament Exchange!
This year there are a few changes and additions you need to know
about.
Let's read up and let the Crafting and Stitchin' begin! <
Due to the shrinking size of the many FidoNet Crafting type echos,
this year several of the echos are banding together to make this a
"Joint Effort". That way we have MORE participants and MORE goodies!
Anne McReary - Moderator of the CROSS-STITCHING Echo is your Exchange
Hostess this year.
This offer is extended to ALL CRAFTING RELATED ECHOS ON FIDONET. If your
echo has not had this information posted and you want YOUR echo
represented in this exchange, contact Anne and let her know.
Rules for the First Annual Fido Joint Crafting Echos Christmas Ornament
Exchange:
1. To join you must not be on ANY of the related Fido Crafting Echo
Bad Lists. All moderators and exchange hostesses are asked to send
details to Anne McReary about your "lists".
2. You must meet all the rules of the Fido Crafting Echos.
3. You must completely fill out the signup form and put your name at
the signature line. (See separate post).
4. This year we will have FOUR Categories of participation. You may
sign up for one or all of Canvas Needlework, Decorative Needlework,
General Crafting, and Charity Donation.
a. CANVAS NEEDLEWORK includes any type of Plastic Canvas,
Crewel, Needlepoint or other "Canvas" based craft.
b. DECORATIVE NEEDLEWORK includes Cross-Stitching, Beading,
Hardanger, Pulled Thread, Silk Ribbon, Embroidery, Tatting,
Crochet, Knit or Quilted Ornaments which have decorative
needlework on them.
c. GENERAL CRAFTWORK includes any craft included in the above two
divisions AND any craftwork NOT included in the above two
divisions. This may include your fancy "paperwork", rubber
stamping, wood, stained glass, or any other types of
appropriate crafts.
d. CHARITY DONATION includes all of the above AND any other type
of craft that you would consider appropriate to send to the
Mary Bridge Children's Hospital Festival of Trees Charity
Auction. (See separate post THIS CATEGORY HAS AN EARLY
DEADLINE DUE TO THE TIMING OF THE AUCTION AND NECESSARY
PAPERWORK for your TAX DEDUCTION.
5. You may only sign up for as many groups in each category as you
choose. It is expected you will meet the obligation for EACH group.
6. The groups will be of anywhere from three to five people each,
depending on how many people sign up.
7. For each group you sign up for, you will be asked to make an
ornament for the Charity Donation group, above and beyond
individual sign-up for that group specifically. So if there are 4
members in your group, a fifth ornament will be sent to the Charity
Donation group as well.
8. Requests for special paperwork for the Charity Donation Group will run
from August 5, 1997 through September 15, 1997. If you desire a
"tax-deduction" form, you will need to send Anne McReary a
Self-Addressed and STAMPED legal size envelope with your sign-up form.
There are several sheets of information that must be returned to you.
9. All Charity Donation ornaments MUST BE MAILED WITH THE APPROPRIATE
FORM FILLED OUT to arrive at Anne McReary's home address for further
delivery NO LATER than OCTOBER 1, 1997. Anne will see that the
ornaments and forms are delivered to LTC Margaret Richardson from
Madigan Army Medical Center before OCTOBER 15, 1997. LTC Richardson
will then make sure everything is taken care of. (See Separate
Message on the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital Festival of Trees
Charity Auction).
10. Signups for the Canvas Needlework Group, the Decorative
Needlework Group, and General Craftwork Group will begin August
5, 1997 and run through October 5, 1997. All groupings will be
posted by October 15, 1997. All ornaments are to be IN THE MAIL
by November 15, 1997 so as to arrive by December 1, 1997. This
way we can all have them on our trees for Christmas this year.
11. On January 1, 1997 all participants are asked to post a message
to Anne McReary stating whether they received from everyone or
who still owes them an ornament. Those people who have not been
received from will immediately be put on the bad list until such
time all of the ornaments owed have been received (qualifiers
will be put out on each person though such as: Ornaments in mail
but not received, One ornament lost in mail, etc.).
12. Size of ornaments is limited to tree size. Use your best
judgement. See the guidelines for the Charity Donation
Ornaments.
13. Please have fun and do a good job on your ornaments. When you
send out what you consider to be a nice ornament to someone, you
can expect to get the same back. Remember there is someone out
there waiting to receive YOUR special ornament!
