-> W = 13.13 + 0.62 * T - 13.95 * V ^ 0.16 + 0.486 * T + V ^ 0.16 
  
To my mind, still carrying the programming habits of long ago, when 
BASICs were very slow, this looks horrible. It does the same 
exponentiation twice, and exponentiation takes forever. I would rewrite 
it as: 
  
W = 13.13 + 0.62 * T + (0.416 * T - 13.95) * V ^ 0.16 
  
It's shorter, too! 
  
(I'm sure you made a typo, and the final "+" in your formula should be 
a "*". You got it right in the "English" version.)
