Radio Shack offers a 300 channel trunk tracker hand-held scanner in
their 1998 catalog. The part number is 20-520 with a price of $299.99
and there is a leather carrying case available for $19.99. It appears to
be a clone of the BC-235 scanner sold by Uniden.
My local Radio Shack store has NOT received any TT scanners in stock.
According to the description in catalog, the TT uses a Ni-Cad
rechargable "battery pack". No salesman in the store could explain if
the word "battery pack" was referring to a Sealed pack of batteries vs.
individual AA batteries. Up to this point Radio Shack has always used
individual AA batteries in all the hand-held scanners I have seen.
If you have further information, such as having actually examined
a Radio Shack TT, check to see what type of "battery pack" is being
used and report your findings here in ScanRadio.
