8k is smaller than my exe but mine does _all_ the files on the disk that
are named in a created list file.

Doing them one at a time is not an option  when there are thousans of files to do :-)

BTW   I haven't had time to even decode the UUE yet, let alone test it.

I trust you found the cause of your dupes ?
