As Julia Sidebottom was saying to Wendy Apgar:
JS> I do hope first of all that things are going some what better for
JS> you.
I try to take things one day at a time, or one step at
a time. It's hard because I've been pushing myself
physically in order to take care of myself emotionally.
But, I know the only way over is through.
JS> Many of these are unmounted stamps that I have not had the
JS> opportunity to mount with all the fuss around here...and
JS> the rest are mounted stamps that are also waiting until I
JS> can get my bloody little fingers on them!
JS> I have been doing a bit of stamping here the last several
JS> days. I have been experimenting with Pergamano some and
JS> various other stamped designs that can be done on
JS> parchment.
I usually don't buy unmounted stamps, although I have
a friend who has and has the clear thing (I forget what
it is called) that the stamps cling to when they are
used.
There are so many things one can do with rubber stamps.
I know for myself there is no way that I could learn
to do them all so I stick with the little things which
I learn periodically which are fairly easy for me to
do. I'm one that doesn't do a lot of detail such as
sceneries. Or really fancy cards, although I do some
detailed work. I suppose that is why there are so many
different kinds of stamps and different things to do
with them, because there are always so many different
people. :-)
JS> It definitly sounds as though you are keeping busy with your RS'ing!
JS> and you are right that it can get your mind off of a zillion other
JS> things I hope you make some $$ from you endevor... I have
JS> not even marketed any of my cards or stamps in months now.
I wish I had more of an opportunity to market them. I know
that I do make money on my cards and sending them out to
others, but right now I need extra money coming in to pay
the bills and the RX since I lost my babysitting because of
some healthy boundaries that I set. In the past I have
managed to sell enough of the rubber stamped items to pay
for the card stock, new rubber stamps, and misc supplies.
The bazaar is in November, the one my mom is doing. I'm
hoping to make Christmas money since I can't make all my
gifts. I run out of ideas.
JS> This move has taken all my time and energy. Right now I
JS> must get things finished here before I can dig into any new
JS> projects that will take up "space" in this room... but as
JS> I have mentioned before I have no doubt that soon enough
JS> the "space" difficulties should be resolved.
I know what you mean. I'm going to have to set aside some
of what I have been doing in order to put together Our
Journey, which I edit.
JS> I understand well having to get a replacement pen or other
JS> items when I am running low.. I hate to do that... seeing I
JS> am very well stocked most of the time and I hate the idea
JS> of going out anywhere anymore... Driving is just to
JS> stressful for me... and I only do that when I must.
I know what you mean. I have decided I do need to buy some
more of the blue shades. I only have a blue blue, a dark
blue and a pale blue and turquoise. I need a shade between
the pale and dark blues. But for now I have the pens that I
need.
For me, when my pain level is really high and I'm tired,
driving becomes a real chore. Even though I have been
getting some sleep at night, between the physical pain and
the emotional stuff it simply isn't enough (even with
the RX I take for the fibromyalgia at night). I'm
exhausted and have trouble driving anywhere. It's really
hard because it is difficult to find help to do the
things that need to be done. I'm hoping that a friend can
go to the pharmacy and pick up the pain medication that
is there. Someone from my church went by and paid for it
for me, but I need someone to pick it up before I run out
of what I have.
JS> The coloring part can be one of the more fun things to do
JS> especially if you are anything like me... I do one up and
JS> if I am not satified with the first choices I made the next
JS> one will be colored completely different.
I do that too. I'll usually make and color several at a time.
Right now there are two for me, one for the bazaar, and one
for my mom who buys craft supplies for me in exchange. Mom
says she has so many cards I've made for them over the last
couple of years that she is going to get them out next time
she has her friends over and see if anyone wants to buy
them. Of course, she says, she will pull out all her
favorites and the ones that take me a lot of time and effort
to do. :-)
