Hi, Russ;

RW> OK... got myself a log book from Teck America.
RW> I was accused of "stepping" onto someone, and he said to log
RW> myself as interference at the frequency I was talking to him at.
RW> WHO LOOKS at my log book?

The FCC has the AUTHORITY to read your log, however I have never heard
of them knocking on anyone's door and saying "Let's see your log."
I'm sure that in the case of REPEATED AND INTENTIONAL jamming they COULD
come to your door, however I personally doubt that will happen in this
case. _IF_ you hear from them about it, it would probablly be in the
form of a letter - a NAL - Notice of Apparent Liability. _IF_ that
should happen, send them a letter, (keep a copy, and it wouldn't hurt to
get it notarized), and a photocopy of your log showing the entry, and
that should be the end of it, since it WAS accidental and this was the
only such incident.

RW> I hung up the microphone backwards to keep it out of the way and
RW> it was transmitting continually by mistake.
RW> Seemed like everyone was talking about my boo boo all day long!
RW> Do I take my log book to confession and have a priest look at it?
RW> I'll try anything at this point!

I am not a lawyer, and someone else may take an entirely different
view, but my suggestion would be to log it as an accidental transmisson,
and give a brief reason why it happened in the comments area.

Well, I think you have had a lot more problems with the Hams talking
about it than you will have from the FCC. The FCC has more than they
can handle already with flagrant violators, (ever listen around 3995?),
and pirate broadcasters without worrying about a one-time accident.

Like I said, this is _MY_ opinion. Your milage may vary, but don't
lose any sleep over it.
