You can't... so you always start from C: or somewhere fixed. That way, you can put all your batch files in *that* directory (I use the C root) and know that when you type "grunge" you'll get grunge.bat and not grunge.exe to run. You need to go back to your starting directory all the time. I've even got Windows set up that way. As I said, I went through all this when I was trying to get AutoCad to run right, but it never occurred to me to do the same thing with a batch file for everything else. Good idea.
