CH> BTW what do y'all make of this. There's this wonderful free
CH> classified ad service called craigslist.com
CH> Now what do you make of this fact that if I search/post for
CH> the Fort Worth area, uh Excuse me! They have it under
CH> DALLAS! !!! grrrrrr.
BK> There's a difference?
(blink blink blink... BARB Hand me the double bubble Nerf Bat_))
Yes.
CH> Well boo! the paper says bu the year 2030 FW will be bigger
CH> than Dallas so they'll haveta make Dallas a part of FW
CH> instead! ha! SO there... FW is nicer btw.
BK> See the tagline. I been there.
hmm. :) Scrooled down. Read tagline. Yes I agree but FW doesn't (choke)
(cough) have one of those obesity motivators... OH wait. There are some
but they're disguised in clever brick/stone and less a violence to the
eye in search for slow-food.
The funny thing is on a FW (Fort Worth) faq page it claims FW is a
mere (laughing!) 16 minutes from Downtown Dallas. By what!!!???
Helicopter maybe. I'd say the BIGGEST difference is... Traffic.
BUT FW is all slap happy to catch up.
Frankly I don't know why people are so slap happy about increasing the
population. They don't realize what 'crowding' means and oh oh I
should not speak the Ugly Word!!! They don't think about how humans
have yet to learn how to too.... do something with their garbage
besides fill the earth with it.
In our paper there was a slap happy commentary on Booming Population
is not so bad! Gee wally wall banger we got to get more folks in to
support the aging baby boomers! The USA is wide open!! ((Texas alone
is every developers wet dream)).... gee we gots to fill every little
single bitty spot with a humn body! Don't matter if it can work...
If you feel a hurricane coming on here yup that's it! but I'm going
to simmer on down. After all you and I won't be here when those slap
happy rabbit brained people (who most certainly aren't poor and know
nothing of real life)- will be crying about how gee whee... CROWDED it
is. They ought to go spend a month in Calcutta.
Can you see it now? The USA as People clogged as Japan? With
convenient land fills to either side (the oCeans)... the rich get the
best dibs on location... near the coasts perhaps/the mountains... and
the rest of us get stuck in the middle. You know.. the former Bread
basket and the former Cattle Grazing Ranges... and the former...
deserts. (Former being past tense as seen from the future.)

CH> person taking the order wanted to know what part of Brooklyn
CH> (Elmira) was..... eh.
BK> I've heard of Elmira. Elmira Ohio, that is.
Yes there's an Elmira there and in California. As a matter of fact
there's a Corning, Ca too and it's about the same distance from
Elmira, CA only north/south whereas the NYS versions are East/West of
each other.
BTW Corning, NY is the home of Corning Glassworks ... Corning Glass
makes Pyrex ... among other things. We were so SURPRISED to find a
Corning Store nearby here in Grapevine. Gosh that got me all
nostalgic.... (For Cornin, NY is a lovey city to shop at. The down
town "Market Street" is lined with brick sidewalks and trees.. many
quaint privately owned shops. Downtown Corning wasn't killed the way
Elmira was by suburban mall sprawl. ((The funny thing about THAT is
the mall that killed Downtown Elmira is getting killed now by two
other mall sprawls. It's getting to look like Texas up there.
It's amazing there are so many mall sprawls here , some right next
door to each other- they all stay in business.
To new visitors the amount of shopping areas is (as my sister put
it)- overwhelming. But they outnumber the churches.
.............................................
CH> And another thing. Remember that big power blackout last
CH> year? The WHOLE North EAst was effected but the way the
CH> NEWSpapers down here in deep dixie reported it, you'd think
CH> NYC was the only area effected. I swear.
BK> Last year? Was that last year? Wasn't that a couple years ago?
That long ago already? You're provably right. I try not to think
about time too much. Good grief Ooh what does this mean?- My
family and I have been here in Texas now just about the same length of
time we were in Florida. Funny how it seems like we were hardly in
Florida very long at all. Here feels like forever. But as hubby
reminds especially now that the weather is getting cooler-(colder),
at least we're not stuck in Minnesota.
...........
CH> Oh yeah some people up north are just as bad. They think
CH> New Mexico is part of Mexico. :) And they've no idea at
BK> Well, since you need a passport to visit New Mexico...
You do not! :P OH by the way you can breeze into Canada (they just
ask where you're going ...) but getting back you need your passport.
We got back here from a visit to Vancouver without any problem. WHEW!
(Hubby had lost weight so he didn't look like his passport. The Guard
guy asked him why don't you look like your passport. He (Hubby) said,
"I lost weight" and that was all there was too it. See I had been
after him to get his passport upgraded but he didn't think he'd have
to...and well hmm guess we were lucky. There'd been a LONG line you
see and by the time we got to the boarder booth they were probably not
as nit picky.
.............................
CH> all, as we didn't' either at one time- that Texas is NOT
CH> all desert.... (It has five climate zones in fact.)
BK> All hot and dry. I hear they found a door in the back areas of
BK> Texas that leads straight to hell. They leave it open to cool
BK> off Texas.
LOL! It's not all hot and dry right now. I'm grateful we're not out
in the west where the DESERT provides these awful things called Sand
Devils... yep straight outta hell. (Sand storms). It's clay in the
north east. No devils except the ones from Dallas of course.
