Why do you think that time travel is involved. When V'ger/Decker/Ilea
(sp?) entity flashes away at the end of the film why couldn't it have just
opened a transwarp conduit on a direct line with the machine home world. As
I understand the concept of a transwarp conduit this would have V/D/I home
in minutes or seconds.
Yes, when V/D/I arrives and passes on its info the face of the machine
planet would change. The new "prime directive" would be analysed, found to
be sound, accepted and implemented. Of course sentient lifeforms closest to
the machine would would be the first taken over. Who knows where their new
entity name comes from? "Bio-mechanical ORGanism, B-ORG, Borg"? That is
the fasination of STAR TREK: infinate diversity in infinate combination!
