PM>> The story that someone told me was that CSC were going to consolidate
PM>> their offices into one and were moving to the American Express biulding
PM>> in North Ryde He's either wrong or very much better informed that you
PM>> are!
PE> It's always possible they sent out a memo and I didn't read it. I have
PE> this pile of old paper on my desk, and sometimes people consider that to
PE> be an "in-tray". The rest of my desk is covered by a
relatively thin
PE> layer of old paper too. I have something that looks like an in-tray, but
PE> that contains lots of pens etc. They sometimes decide that is an in-tray
PE> too. I admit it is easy to make a mistake there.
At my old job my in tray was used to hold spare nuts, bolts, jumpers, SCSI
terminators etc. I actually had two desks, one with a PC and one with a
Sun, so I even managed to confuse people about which desk to drop stuff on.
PM>> Speaking of North Ryde, I'm working out there at the moment. I finally
PM>> bit the bullet and resigned from ISSC and took a three month contract at
PM>> GEC Marconi (*not* the soccer club!)
PE> From the amount of hassles you had whilst in employment, it would sound
PE> like permanent contracting is the way to go for you. Are you going
PE> through a head-hunter, or have you started your own company? BFN. Paul.
PE> {at}EOT:
The hassle was with that particular company; I've got nothing against being
a permanent employee. For the moment though I'll probably keep contracting.
Even with you're own company, most contracting jobs are still through head
hunters. I didn't bother setting one up so officially I'm employed by the
head hunter.
