RF> Canada! (I refuse to say "eh," BTW.) ;-) Taking a look at
RF> your discussion of DNF's music, I was just thinking that one style you
RF> might want to consider is Hollywood-style orchestral music, as in
RF> Shiny's MDK. It works well in many situations.
That's my primary style of choice. Check out past stuff for examples:
"Mistache" from ROTT, "Ah Geez" from D3D, and so on. Genres 'R' us, though
- as long as they don't ask me to write a Patsy Cline-style number or fully
notate a jazz chart in Coltrane or Davis' styles. I might pull it off, but
I wouldn't really want to be there to hear the end result.
Most likely, I'll stick to what worked for D3D - a mixture of rock and
orchestral, with more of a blend this time. Most of the D3D pieces were
rather "segregated", for lack of a better term - either all orchestral, all
rock, or all something else. The few that I mixed up came out rather well,
so I'll probably experiment further along those lines and see exactly how
far I can take it. At least for a few more charts, that is.
