Hi Bob FM> One more reason - some early viruses tried to kill COMMAND.COM FM> in the root directory, weren't smart enough to look at COMSPEC. BL> What's COMSPEC? A useful trick for floppy-only network workstations. They read command.com from the floppy, log on to the network, then set Comspec to a copy of command.com on the fileserver, so a floppy read is no longer needed every time the command processor is reread.
