subject: Cage Size?

As some of you already know, I am planning to obtain a parrot in about
a year and what I am planning to do is buy the cage first, then buy
the parrot. It will either be a macaw or a cockatoo.
My question is this: Is a cage designed for an adult bird also safe for
a baby? IE: can a baby bird get its head stuck between the grates of
a cage designed for a full-grown bird? I don't have the foggiest
clue as to the sizes of baby birds, never having seen one, so I
don't know what to do about the cage.
When I buy the bird, it will be a weaned baby, at least. I'm not
interested in having to hand-feed a baby, and I don't want to have
to buy two cages.
What say you?
... All right.... who siphoned the blood out of my cat?
