ozzmosis Sun Mar 23 13:53:44 EST 2003 timed dirlist.c,1.4,1.5 header.c,1.3,1.4 readarea.c,1.5,1.6 Update of /cvsroot/timed In directory blizzard.dnsalias.org:/tmp/cvs-serv50600 Modified Files: dirlist.c header.c readarea.c Log Message: Here's a suggestion for a change in the request and attachment menus. First of all it fixes some inconsistencies. Secondly it changes the keybindings: My problem is, that C- is not recognized as "Accept" as suggested by the menu. In fact tgetkey() in idlekeyunix.c returns 13 regardless wether Control is pressed or not. So I always get the edit window instead of finishing the attachment menu. I always have to press Escape, which is somehow confusing since my understanding of Escape is not to confirm something but to cancel it. So I would suggest the following mapping: - Ins and Del are fine. (and pretty mnenomic, btw) - Space -> Edit the currently marked attachment. - Enter -> Confirm the attachment and close the menu. - Escape -> Cancel any actions and close the menu without attaching anything. Similar for the File-Request menu. These are more or less my preferences. So it's only a suggestion. To me this seems more consistent in the sense of least surprise. But at least the menu legend should be fixed to a unique form. Also the code is partly cut'n'paste'd. So there are absolute coordinates to find the desired position on the screen. This is ugly. One should design this more abstractly. (But this has time, I think...) - Meikel Brandmeyer 2:244/1165 Cleaned up some menu legends for consistancy. 'e' can now be used as an alternative to Ins and 'd' as an alternative to Del in the File Request and File Attach menus. - Andrew Clarke, 3:633/267 --- Postmsg/BSD 1.1* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Mt Eliza, Victoria, Australia (3:633/267) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
