As a child in Holland citizens of the USA were referred to as Americans. While stationed in Germany in the 60's same citizens were referred to as Amis. There was no problem at all in know whereof they spoke or about whom. Even the Latin Americans have no problem with that, nor did the Norwegians when I was there. Because we spoke English we were immediately dubbed as Americans (there's that word again), and, because of the recent accident and loss of life of the oil rig at that time, not liked very much either, until we were able to convince them we were Canadians. --- SBBSecho 2.10-Win32* Origin: The Lions Den BBS, Trenton, On, CDN (1:249/303) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 249/303 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
