subject: Bios calls / text color

A creature called David Etheredge screamed at Peter Fitzsimmons:

PF> There are two portable (across compilers) way to use
 PF> text colours under OS/2:

PF> 1) ANSI codes (just use printf()).

DE> I thought of this, but is ANSI always enabled in OS/2? Looks
 DE> like ... otherwise.

Yes, unless you turn it off.

PF> 2) The VIO api. Look for PRCP.ZIP on a fine os/2 bbs near you for
 PF> the documentation.

DE> OK, I thought that the VIO calls were only for in the PM.. (
DE> OK so I am not totally with it yet ...).

VIO is for either. Just make sure the window handle (third parameter in
VioWrtTTY()) is 0 for text-mode apps.
