Good for you! You must be doing something right!
I've never had NiCads last that long. I have three 6v NiCad packs
for a 10 year old video camera that are supposed to have 1000mAh
capacity but one has died completely, the others have only about
100mAh capacity.
From their size I could fit those AA size cells in the same case,
pushing the capacity up to 2300mAh. And since they don't have the
memory effect, I wouldn't have to cycle them so often.
