Ok this isn't strictly a scanning question but it could
very will be. I'm having a problem with AM reception
and would like some of you guys to help me.
First let me explain my set up. I'm using a tuner/amp
hooked to a horizontal long wire, about 100-150 feet,
antenna made from speaker wire. The tuner is ground to
an outlet screw (which may or may not have any effect
on reception).
One of the main problems I'm having is interference
from other electrical appliances, mainly my computer
monitor. I'm talking about things that are across the
room or even another room. Is there some way to stop
this? I know something can bug it if it's too close
but across the room?
Now for another couple of questions. Would my
reception be better if I ran a shorter vertical
antenna? Or maybe if I sloped the wire? How about
some type of LONG vertical wire?
                     Remember: Freedom isn't Free!
