Interesing question!

I know that in one case here,  where the "settings" had gone to
zeros (not to be renumbered),  I didn't take notice of it until I was
looking at a list of areas in TimED and noticed that one of them had gone
to a 5-digit number.  

FWIW,  I run all Squish bases here,  I don't know if that'd be any
different for *.msg.
