That's a concern for me as well: when I "downgraded" from the 1496+ to the 
Elite, it was with the understanding that I could later upgrade to the 
Supreme for a nominal fee ($25, if I remember correctly).  I mentioned this 
to ZyXEL this week, and nobody there remembered such an offer.  I don't know 
if I can find the documentation or not.
In any case, they do still plan to come out with the Supreme.
