Hi folks, David Begley has explained what the problem I was
experiencing was.

EMXFIX03 does indeed fix the problem.  You must apply 
EMXFIX03 to fix the problem, because the problem is in
the development libraries.  Merely installing the new
version of EMXRT will not fix the problem, as that is
only a new version of the runtime library, not the
development library.

What does this mean to people who have a copy of BTPE302.ZIP?

Well, if you have recompiled the source under EMX, you will
get better code with EMXFIX03 than otherwise, because although
I worked around the bug in some of the places in find_addr,
I didn't work around all of them.  In fact, now I'm going to
be putting that code back to how it used to be (sort of).
